Tire Siping??

Hey guys. I searched and couldn't find anything but have you ever heard of tire Siping??? Its suppose to improve braking, treadlife, and have a smoother ride by putting small cuts in the tire. I am asking because I am getting a set of Goodyears mounted on my Jeep Liberty tomorrow and was recommended to do the siping too. Please check it out http://www.sipers.com/sipers/index_large.asp

OK nevermind..i found some old posts and it seems like siping is not the way to go.
