Loose window. Need help
I read a few posts on how to tighten up the window. My drivers side window dosent completely slide in when you shut the door and seems a bit loose. I read some post on taking off the panel and tightening a screw. Anyone have any incite?
Thanks Chris |

More descriptive? Coupe? Sedan? Which way is it loose? What are you talking about it 'sliding in'?

Your description is still kind of vague, but I do know what you are talking about. Post a picture of your window and door closed to show me how the window 'isnt' shut properly.

Ok here are the pics.. The first one is of the window not sealing when closed... The other is of it sealed when I was out of the car pushing it in.. and the last is the "wiggle" the window has that the passenger side dose not have. |

Its hard to tell from the pictures. Are you talking about it not moving up all the way......are do you think the window isn't far enough back?
As far as the play in the window, pretty much all coupes/vert's have play in that direction.

No.. the problem is down in the door panel itself. Trust me, the looseness is from it not being tight down in the door. You can see the play in the actual top of the door (not the window) its very loose. Its not the part I took a pic of, its the top of the door, with the window up you can see the play in the window. The passenger side is not like that. There has to be a way to tighten the window itself. Ill just take it apart and tighten everything when I get some time. |

there is an bolt in there you can tighten, you need an E7 socket to do it
if you do this, please take a picture of the rear socket (there is also one in the front), mine has a rattle that I could not fix by tightening I recently had the door replaced and I think that they may have left out a rubber pad of some sort. |

The glass sits on two metal mounts. the mounts pinch on the glass via two bolts, one or both of his boths are probably loose.

this is inside the door panel, if you take off the huge foam covering you will see them, they are what hold the glass to the lifting mechanism, you will probably have to move the window up and down until you can access both bolts (i had to, make sure you reconnect the airbag before you hook the battery back up)

Remember 2 things: 1. The threads are reverse on these bolts 2. Do NOT overtighten.......meaning do not crank down on the bolt. THE GLASS WILL BREAK

Ok here are some pics..
The first is of the outside door panel,.. then the obvious door itself.. so do I just tighten the outside ones? Or actually take the panel off? |

you have to take the panel off, i dont see how you are supposed to access the bolts by any other method
