I used a tint spray, VHT niteshade check ebay...I used it on my tails and on my corners...It cuts down on reflection by the way...
I'm sure you could just use a screen stencil and use regular paint? |

you would be surprised that lots of people come into my work (hobby people) and ask for transparent black window tint (spray) for their lenses. one customer decided that he wanted to do it in the parking lot (he told me he wanted to surprise his uncle) whatever, so i stand out their (b/c no business) and i see him just spray it, let it dry, then put it on. not sure if it was the right way but after he put it back on, i had to give it too him, it looked pretty decent i guess?

i've got the silver bulbs in the back and they light up...fine...during the day, like in the sun i wonder if anybody can see them! at night they're great.
I have the oem bulbs in the side markers because there is no reflection and so you see the bulb light up in the day rather than the whole area of the piece... |

I would suggest finger paints they work pretty well and can easily be washed off your hands after application.
