Question help - question about codes

I am planning to rewire my cruise control buttons to do other functions (garage door, v1/zr3 mute, etc).

In order to do this, I have to cut the wire going to go to the cruise control module.

No big deal, since I have no need for the cruise control, but the cruise control buttons are polled twice/second to make sure they "are there" This is BMW error code 45 (no OBDII code associated with it though).

Since there is no ODBII code, I imagine no lights will come on, but the code will still be stored in the computer. Question is, how will this affect the car computer? Will the code be stored once, or be continuously getting stored, twice per second and "fill up the memory"?
