I think you are in the minority on this one.

I don't put any car away. I drive them all as long as it is safe. I wouldn't take a sports car out on ice but I would take it out if the roads were free of ice and snow. As far as salt goes, I couldn't care less. I don't keep a car long enough for salt to cause rust.
Hey, 100 years from now who is going to care if I took care of the car or not?

I put mine away after the first time the roads are salted. Well, actually, mine is almost always put away, I think I've only driven it about 700 miles this year.

i don't put it away during winter. but since winters over here can get pretty nasty, i drive the BMW less during this period. i don't want to use it as a snowplow, nor do i care much for the annoying salt they use on many (not all) roads. this works since i'm not depending on it to get to where i'm going, the train is an easier way for me to travel (esp. during winter).

if you put it away, don't let it sit still from say, november till april without starting & driving it around every so often. it'll do more harm than good. and when you start it and drive it around, drive long enough for the condensation to evaporate/vaporize (which word is correct?) so your fuel tank and exhaust won't rust. being driven every now and then is very healthy for a car.

Even for a Ferrari, if I was actually able to afford it and bought it I'd drive it all year all weather. I'd wash it every week and take really good care of it but I'd drive it like it's stolen, it's car so it's meant to be driven.

thats the reason i put mine away (stone chips and whatnot) i mean if it came down to it there's maybe 10 days that you really cant drive the car all winter. i have a 4runner too so its no big deal to be without the car.

The car's gonna depreciate no matter what you do. So you might as well get some use out of it.

I don't put it away, but just don't drive it if there's any snow on the road (summer tires). Once the snow is gone, then out it comes, although traction sucks at -10F with summer tires.

We don't have to worry about winter weather here unless we want to drive up to Tahoe.
