Vanos Solenoids

I've read on several posts about people replacing their vanos solenoids. Seems like most replace one solenoid. Don't we have two on the double vanos systems? Do most replace both or is just one of the sides more prone to failure? Thanks!

There is an intake and exhaust side, you just replace which ever one is bad.

The exhaust side, or the one paralleling with the fan, is common seen in trouble. You might just open and clean it, don't need to replace. I did that.

Ok. I thought I saw on several threads where people were replacing them when there wasn't evidence they were bad but yet they noticed great improvement.
