Failed emissions... Need help!

So I took my car down to the DMV today and yep, I failed. I failed because my CEL isn't working, because whoever I bought the car from disabled it. The guy who went out of state to get it for me noticed that the CEL light was on, and he said something (i wish he hadn't!!) so they took it into their garage and when it came out it wasnt on anymore. All it was was a faulty spark plug wire, DAMNIT! I would rather not have to buy a whole new cluster!! That is EXPENSIVE!

They wouldnt tell me the other reason I failed, they wanted me to go wait inside in the line to find out so I just left.

If anyone knows the codes they use that would be really helpfull also if any of you think you know how they disabled the CEL that would also be helpfull because maybee I could fix it myself

Could be as simple as a loose, leaking or faulty fuel cap to something with the fuel system. Get someone to check the fuel lines, including the return lines. There may be some valves and solenoids in there that aren't functioning properly. (I'm no expert on fuel systems, but it is worth a shot.)

Faults look like a purge valve and some sort of mixture/MAF meter troubles.....

As far as the inspection, they should tell you if anything else is wrong with your car to fail inspection. If they don't and you fail again for something else when you go back, you better be raising some hell to a manager.
