Yes, the dynamic range of that shot was extreme to say the least. There were some white areas on the rose that made it especially challenging to balance a correct exposure. I did my best with the camera and then fine tuned the exposure in NX.

That caterpillar shot makes me crave a macro even more. The Tamron 90 and the Sigma 105 are jerking at my wallet everyday now. The Nikon 105 offers VR (virtually useless at macro focusing distances) but does not really seem to have an improved IQ over the 3rd party offerings. Anybody here have one of these lenses?
