You need to remove the turn signal unit to change the bulb. Open the hood and look down from the top of the fender. You will see a hole at the edge of the fender a few inches behind the turn signal. Use a flash light and you will see that there is a small plastic tab a few inches down the hole. Push down the tab gently with a screw driver while pulling on the turn signal unit to release.

Yep, it's in your owner's manual as well.

It's pretty easy push down on the tab and forward while with the other hand push light forward also.

Does anyone have any extra tips on this topic ? I just can't seem to get the front turn signal indicator out! When I press down on the black plastic tab, nothing happens. The tab doesn't move, the indicator will not budge.

I've looked in the owners manual and at the execellent howto here: http://www.e46fanatics.com/howto/how...php?howto_id=7. I've successfully done minor car repairs for years.. so I hope I'm not a total spaz.

Thanks for any advice.

You might scratch the lens. When you push down on the black tab, also push it towards the front of the car. Its like a pushdown and forward motion.

While pushing down on the tab wiggle the lense with your other hand. There's a bit of a rubber seal that might be sticking. Do not press harder on the tab, you'll just break it.
