Prefacelift halogen reflectors fit into facelift assemblies?

I sold some halogen reflectors from a prefacelift sedan on ebay. The guy is claiming that they don't fit into his facelift sedan assemblies. I was under the impression that the reflectors were interchangeable. Am I wrong here?

I just did the reverse last week - facelift sedan xenon reflectors into non-facelift sedan ex-halogen housings - and it worked perfectly. All the mount points are identical. It can be tricky to get things apart without damage though, specifically the center ball mount, but otherwise everthing fits great.

Do you know what specifically he is having trouble with?

Yeah, same here. I've done the opposite so I figured that it would work the other way. He's claiming the knob on the reflector that attaches to the assembly doesn't fit. This is the knob that slides into the "track" that controls the left/right position of the headlight. Guess I should call the dealer and see if they know.

That sounds wrong - sh!t those pieces are totally identical between the two housings. Maybe he has the left and right ones reversed??

Good luck with the situation - don't know if it helps but I took lots of photos when I was doing the left housing with thoughts of doing a DIY at some point, if it helps I can send you some...
