Question Headrest screens - how to get wires into headrests

Hi everyone,

I am trying to work out how to install screens in my headrests.

I have a few questions, I know others here have done this job so hopefully they will have worked out these problems:

The two metal bars that go into the headrest (actually one metal bar that is bent over at the top in a sort of "U" shape) are 12mm diameter and solid rather than hollow.

1. I have a friend in engineering who can drill this for me. What size diameter hole do I need for the screen wires?

2. I haven't bought any screens yet so I don't actually know how many wires you need to connect to the screen - anyone?

3. Lastly, is it safe to hollow this bar out, that last thing I want to do is substantially weaken it so it snaps in the (unlikely) event of an accident.

Wait until you get the screens first. Some have separate wires for power and video, some are all together, different diameters, depending on type of wires used. If you hollow the tube out, you will definitely weake it's structural integrity. You can do some calcs to figure out how much.
