Winshield causing problems with Toll and radar?

Hi all,
I just recently got my electronic toll transponder in the mail today and when i put it on the windshield it wont get recognized when i drive through the toll. I called the service center for the tolls and they said the windshield on the m3 is wierd or something and to try puttin it in different positions. This led me to wonder if it is also affecting my radar detector (which is jsut under the tint of the windshield). When i put the toll transponder on my dash towards the bottom of the windshield it works fine. I am wondering if I should move my radar down as well.....it will suck to have the wire hanging that far down though....any one have a similar problem??

Chris

Where was it mounted up top? I have mine behind the rear view mirror as suggested and it works fine. My E-Z Pass that is, I still have to pick up my Valentine One.

Hmm. First I had the transponder right under the rain sensor. Then I put in under my radar detector. My radar detector is on the upper right hand side of the rearview mirror, under the tint. Not sure what the deal is. I guess I jsut gotta keep tossing the fast lane on the dash

Your radar detector may be less effective under the tint.

Metallized tint bands (or being close to the metal frame) may (and probably will) cause interference w/ devices that function off of RF, which include radar detectors and RFID electronic payment transponders.

I keep mine in the glovebox and set it on top of the instrument binnacle when I go through the toll plaza, no problems.
