ahaha Bim - I had no clue you were in the poker business.. I'm playing a few online poker tourneys right now as we speak...
your link doesnt work... is it highstakesart.com instead?
I don't know if I'd consider myself to be in the poker business, but I do work pretty closely with some of the biggest professional players at times. We recently published signed artwork of Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Stuey "The Kid" Ungar, and I just signed a contract with Amarillo Slim this morning... These guys are all such characters, it's easy to see why they do well at poker. I probably know more about the game than your average player, but the true irony is that I don't ever play myself. I've taken a liking to BlackJack instead for some reason. It seems to come naturally for me. Last week I walked out of the casino Saturday night with 4 times what I went in with.

I'm in the fine art business first and foremost. When I moved from Boston to Vegas last spring, one of the first things I did for the company I currently work for was to develop a new collection of artwork with gaming themes. This sold so well over the first couple months of publication that we decided to start a new subsidiary company back in June, called High Stakes Art. The whole market for Poker and Gaming related art has since exploded, and we are at the forefront of the new genre.

The site actually is www.highstakesart.com Sorry about the typo earlier.

You'll see a very broad/diverse collection of gaming related artwork, from ouir exclusively licensed World Series of Poker posters to Original paintings by some otherwise really accomplished artists...

If you see something you like, let me know, and I'll take care of my fellow fanatics with deeply discounted pricing...

Wow - I can see this doing very well. The poker scene has really blown up in the last 2 years since, in my opinion, Chris Moneymaker won it. The nation became under the impression that any amateur can win the WSOP now because of him, and even Greg Raymer.

Are you looking into signing more pros for this site/artwork?

I know if I saw some of these in some of the poster sales that colleges hold at the beginning of each semester for decorating dorm rooms, I know I would've gotten a few of these (I have a couple poker-oriented posters... ) It's really blown up with college kids.. but yeah, just an idea... do you just sell mainly through this site?

We have a distributor that works the sales to college bookstores, pre-semester sales, etc...
We also have a network of retailers that we work pretty closely with, and then there's the endless amount of casino gift shops that sell our products. We've even got it in the Vegas airport giftshops as well. The company is still young, but we are having a tough time keeping up with demand.

We have contracts signed with Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu, Jesus Ferguson, Phil Laak, Howard Lederer and his sister Annie Duke, and a bunch of others. It's just a matter of time before we get around to publishing the artworks of those people. I like to release one pro portrait a month, which fits in with our marketing plan; we don't want to blow our load in one go, we rely pretty heavily on our new release program to get people's attention.

We'll release Amarillo Slim in January, and keep going monthly from there. We also have been getting in a bunch of commissioned work from the artists that we work with, and we are getting ready to run a number of new artworks through the focus groups, and then get the chosen pieces ready for release to the public.

People don't understand that the WSOP is less and less about skill and more and more about luck. The larger the candidate pool, the better the chances of not seeing a professional win ever again. It's all money and marketing to the WSOP, they don't care if they ever see a repeat champion again.

Everyone who knows the poker scene knows that we will likely never see another 2 time champion like Doyle or Johnny Moss, and certainly never a three time champion like Stuey "The Kid" Ungar... That would be as close to impossible as you can get with the odds nowadays.

Chris has the name, but not the talent. Raymer on the other hand consistently plays well in nearly all of the tourneys he enters. He deserves his pro status, IMO. Both are super nice guys, and not stuck up at all about their new wealth.

Not surprised. It took me about two weeks of calling them before I actually got a tracking number. The wait is horrible, but in the end it will be worth it, I swear. Hang in there.

Have any of yall noticed decreased braking performance with coilovers? I really would like more rear bias now with the different distribution.

I dont really know what the suspension is doing now, I havent had a chance to really test it and dont think I really will untill I hit the track. Ive been busy but im free all tomorrow and will call GC because I have some questions about adjustments.

No, I havent corner balanced or got an alignment yet.

PS-I did do some parking lot powerslides earlier, but those were all power provoked earlier...which leads me to think its understeering.

For what it's worth, I had a boatload of understeer after installing my coilovers...

Nothing a little swaybar adjusting won't fix though...
