Funny how I keep learning new things about my car. I wish I had known about the 10 second DSC rule when we had a little snow here in Georgia a couple months ago. I coulda had some fun. This nugget of info was not listed in the manual when I looked it up.

It should turn it off completely in your 328ci. When I had mine I was playing around in the snow and I could spin my wheels freely without interruption.

I have an auto 2000 328i and i can turn DSC on and off as many time as I feel like it without having to restart the car. HOWEVER, there was this one time when it wouldn't turn off and I had to turn the car off and back on again. But that hasn't happened again.
Secondly, even though I have an auto that is stock...when I turn DSC off I get screeching and chirping depending on how hard a punch the the pedal. ![]() EDIT: Oh, and when I have DSC off I'm pretty sure the entire system is disabled, I took it out for some empty parking lot in the rain fun and let me tell you without DSC this car was slipping left and right with no interruption whatsoever.

after turning the DSC all the way off (with the yellow brake light lit) in order to turn DSC back on you cant just press it quickly, you have to press and hold again and then it will turn back on.

i just wanted to say that from reading the series of posts in this topic, i honestly learned no new information about my car or any cars. i just read about one dude obsessed with chirping, and a bunch of others talking about pushing buttons.
lol. |

^That's not the problem. If you have a 2000 car, press and hold it for 10 seconds. If you do that, you can't turn it back on unless you restart your car. Now if you have a 2001+ this is how you actually disable everything.
