Vacumed car and Airbag light now on!

I vacumed the new ride. especially around and under the seats with all the crap that falls down there. Is there a sensor for the airbag around the seats?

The light is on now.

Thanks.

If you hit and disconnected the plug under either of the 2 front seats that explains why the airbag light has tripped. Only way to reset it is to either take a trip to the dealer or buy a peake research SRS airbag reset tool. It goes for about $150 I think.

Be more careful next time

I only saw the occupancy sensor located under the rear of the passenger seat.

Weird?

So, simply hitting this connection can cause the light to go off? Wow, the key was not in the ignition, nor was the car running.

The connection is kind of dangling there, which I will now secure in the seat rail area out of harms way (vacumms way) that is.

Looking into buying a reset light, the dealer service ppl are dorks. They say it is a complicated procedure and would need to run a diagnosis.
I simply asked to have it reset because I just vacummed the car and the light came on right after that. She said that it would be around $100. I will buy one instead.

Thanks. Joe.

You vacuumed all the air out of the car therefore there is no more oxygen in there, GET OUT AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!.

My seat occupancy sensor was malfunctioning and was fixed under warranty, it was causing the light to come on.

Borrow a rest tool and see if it comes on again, your local BMW club might have one as a loaner. You could also post in the regional section of this forum and see if someone can lend you one, last resort is to take it to a shop. I really don't think there's a DIY on this one.

I've reset my airbag light before with the actual BMW computer, it's not complicated, and takes literally about one minute or less to do.

Do you have instructions on how to reset via BMW computer, I assume you mean the trip reset button which also can reset other service lights?

Is it in a repair manual?

Thanks.

there is no way that is true. to turn off the light you need either the peak tool or to go to the dealer
