Powerchip is a bit more refined than the Shark. The advantage of the Shark, you can install it in about 15 mins. Powerchip takes from one to three days depending on if you have a local shop that carries it or not. In our case, you have to send your ECU to us and we program it to your specifications.

Damn why am I now seeing this thread... If I may impose, I read thru the entire thread and I assure you that there's nothing wrong with the powerchip software... In case anyone has doubts please read this write-up done by jtkun(Joe) (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...chip+software). After seeing his car and the experience that he's had with Powerchip I'm going to do the same thing. It may be good to note that they have developed software that will also work with the SULEV motors as well (reason why I'm taking advantage of this option). I've spoken to representatives on the phone and they are very courteous, friendly, helpful, and answer all of your questions to your satisfaction. The fact that Autowerks has started to carry them speaks well for their professionalism and excellence as a company. I for one am getting this software as my next performance mod.

P.S. It is also good to note that they will fine tune your software towards current and future mods done to your vehicle.

#2 I have a 2005 ci and POWERCHIP is the ONLY company that makes software for anything over a 2003 that I have been able to find....

why didn't he have them tune it for 94 octane?? I don't get your point They can re-tune the car based upon the octane. Let's assume your friend didn't have anything wrong with the car " Are you trying to say that the software made him lose performance?"(in comparison to a stock e46?) Did he have any other mods done to it that they didn't tune the software for? Has he tried to get his situation taken care of professionally? Alot of gaps left in this "point" you're trying to make (not trying to verbally attack you and sorry if you take it that way). What was his ultimate resolution?

Did he dyno it on the same day before and after the Powerchip upgrade?
