V8 E30

If you wanted to put a V8 into an E30 who would you choose? I would want a complete color change and new interior also. I would prefer someone in the Southwest but not a must.

Hmm, not sure who you'd turn to for the install. That'd be a fun, but heady project. There can be a LOT of stuff to replace along the way of modding an E30. I should know, I've owned 2. BUT, good luck on the build!

Click on the link, and enjoy! It's pretty old news from the E30 community, and some here may know about this guy as well. 0-62 in 4 seconds flat,lol! And gotta love the 6speed manual conversion, 5-lug conversion from a 4-lug wheel, and only the "V12" badge on the back. Some poor sap thinks it's just a badge until he gets mopped,lol.

Motor swaps in E30's are getting to be rather common place, especially OBDI S50B30 3.0L M3 engines from the first series E36 M3, and M50B25 engines from the E36 325i. And, some have the S38B35 M5 engine from the E28 M5! So be careful! It's only now that the V8's and V12's are being considered more so than before.

id like to see a 4.4l from an e39 in that thing. if i remember that motor puts up similar numbers to the v12?

I heard that someone put a Grand National turbo V6 in an E30. Dunno if it's true

true, but i bet thats the last thing they are thinking about.... it definetly shifts the car's priorities to some serious straight line acceleration... still cool though..

Yeah, kiss near 50/50 goodbye! It's a nose heavy hog now. I hope (and I'm sure) he calibrated the suspension to handle the power and change in weight transfer.

if he went through with a complete engine swap and everything else related to that, i'm sure he wouldn't cut corners and just adjust the suspension accordingly

My response was a bit sarcastic. He didn't cut corners. the classic 3 series feel (from what I was told years ago) was lost a bit, but it's still a very agile performer. Case in point, the 5 lug swap from the 4. Common swap for non E30 M3 owners.
