So I've been working on a set of brakes I picked up a few months ago. They are UUC brakes and I have all 4 corners.
The project isn't complete, but I got enough accomplished today to post pictures. Here's the way the Calipers looked when I bought them... I had to strip the original Powder coat off and then I had the engraving machined off. I called the manufacturer to see if there was enough material to be removing the face of the brake like this. They said there's enough face tolerance to grind it down once, just incase they screw up the engraving themselves at the factory. (That's my disclaimer for those who question this act) Then the calipers were masked off and powder coated Gold! Cured Gold: Then... the color I absolutely LOVE.... ugh. Candy Apple Red. This is a translucent red which will show the gold through this color. I could have sprayed silver for the first coat, but I wanted it to be a darker 'blood red' color, so a gold base color will do the trick. Cured Candy Apple. You have to see this color in person, it's very iridescent and it's hard to capture its color. I figured the color would go well with my gunmetal rims...so that was the first thing I had to do. I like it. More pics to show how the color looks so different under different lighting. Getting engraved on the CNC machine: Assembled: Installed:

Nice job, I'm a fan of something a little different like that. You should get the UUC logo put back on them though

I saw these in person today and I have to say, they look incredible!
The color is absolutely sick and I'm hoping that I can get my calipers painted in these colors. . . .

like most people have said... it's kind of plain looking, you should engrave something on it, like your name that you did on your front lip.
