OEM m3 mirror motor swap

I've got 6pin connectors and the oem M3 mirrors are equiped with 12pin. is it possible to switch out the motors? if its possible, would it be hard?

this would make finding mirrors a whole lot easier and cheaper (buying manual mirrors - retrofitting a motor). someone's gotta know!

a forum member (E46_Angemon) has done this but doesnt post much with his m3 mirrors...used the stock motors from his coupe mirrors and just used the oem housings...worked like a charm. I wish i had more details but unfortunately i dont. Just that i was asking him a little while ago about m3 mirrors and how god damn expensive the parts were from the dealer and he started saying that i didnt need the motors and the stock ones were fully compatible.
