Really? I think this makes it really convenient. With the old board, everytime you post, it takes you to the beginning. I hated that. Well, like Craig said, I hope it grows on us!

UBB is the way to go. It may take a while to get used to, but this board software really is user friendly in the long run. Expect me to post (my nonsense dribble) MUCH more often.

it takes a while to go through... there are so many pages of new posts plus you dont know what the hell is going on from reading the subject. you gotta click more stuff.... personally i think its a little more time consuming

before i liked it how the post would show if it contained a pic, or url, etc... and i liked how you can just scroll down and read pretty much everything !

I do agree with you that there are some things I liked about the old software. I really enjoyed the tracking feature - that way, I could keep notes on stuff I'm planning for the future without have to search for it.

On the other hand, with the "Show New Posts" feature, you can skip all the threads that haven't had anything new added to them and just see the ones that have been updated since you were last on the site.

Both have their ups and downs, and I'm sure the Admins will try to get the best of both worlds.

With the new software you can subscribe to a thread, which is basically like thread tracking.

If you read the annoucement this software is going to be upgraded in a few months so that it will be like the old software.

Only thing I notice is that at home on a reg phone line, it takes forever to load a thread due to everyones sig's!!! the old system would only need to load one sig at a time to read a preply. Now it loads all 12 or whatever is on that page plus any pics. Just too damn slow to use at home. Maybe that's a good thing though. I'll spend more time in the garage or with my wife instead of gett'n a fat ass on the computer!

with this new format, you must click to find out who has responded instead of seeing an overall view first. Takes too long to click and read each post!

Actually, UBB would have been no better off than the old version of the forums. The forums are now running vBulletin which uses mySQL. I believe UBB uses flat files which on high traffic sites can get VERY messy and slow.

I still love the new layout
