If someone can tell me what the engine cover is for id really appreciate it and if i take it off what will it do

It doesn't really "do" anything, it's a cover. Here's what it looks like with the cover removed.

Don't worry right after that pic was taken I cleaned up the engine bay. I took the pic just before I installed my carbon fiber engine covers.

Looks and protects the coils from direct water if you were to be cleaning your engine out, etc.
