Kosei K1 being discontinued

Tirerack is receiving their last shipment of Kosei K1's 3/14/06. I was planning on waiting a few more months to get them but it looks like I might have to get them now.

Any news on a replacement for them? I thought the Kosei's would be around longer, I bought a set last year.

The GT2's are priced real well, too bad they raised the price on the comps though.

What's the widest tire you can run on the 17x 8.5's ? Tirerack.com says 225.

i wouldn't go higher than 255. I highly doubt Tirerack said 225

must be a misprint. Tireack would NOT recommend 225 on a 17x8.5. That is stretching the tire. Recommended I believe is 245, but 255's will work just fine maybe even 265's.

I just checked again and on the wheeler selector tool it says "recommended tire size: 225/45/17" which I thought was a little narrow for that wheel. Good to know that its wrong. I would like to get another set of track wheels to run wider tires.
