If you pause a movie or game on a rear projection tv the image can be burned into the tv. Most dvd players however have screen savers to prevent this usually just like bubles moving around. PS2's however do not have a screen saver.

CRTs can have burn in. Go to a Etrade financial center or one of those places that keep tvs on 24/7. then see what it looks like when its turned off.
