MTV True life: I'm a competetive eater

anybody watch this?

Kobayashi > *

He is my new hero. He ate 22 lbs of japanese noodles in one sitting

Kobayashi is impressive not only with his eating but his physique. The guy is shredded to hell. We all know how he bulks, but man, what the hell does he do to get cut up?

FYI...kobyashi made over a million last year. The sport itself is starting to grow (ofcourse there's the whole debate about it being a sport)...that's what I call a dream job!!!

If I had lightning metabolism Id probably be doing the same thing (well not at that level) but Id eat boatloads of food cuz none of it will turn to fat and a little bit of weight training I could put on some decent size. Anyone got a pic of this kobayashi guy? I didnt see the MTV show.

If you actually watched carefully...he talked about how he has a genetic disease where his stomach sits lower than normal...it's actually right below his abs...so his stomach has more area to stretch and thus he can eat more...

That's the main reason I think no one will ever come close to his records. Itís been proven that people with less fat can store more mass in their stomachs. More fat around your stomach restricts the stomach from stretching to its full potential.

I was watching that and got curious about how much money he spends on food. I bet he could eat a couple hundred dollars of food in one sitting easily. Then I was thinking, he could probably eat for free by going to those placed that have the huge pizza's/sandwiches/hamburgers/steaks/etc. where they do contests if you can finish it, it's free.

yeah that dude is bad ass...

Training and techniques
Kobayashi's technique relies on avoiding chewing (if possible) and using a series of stomach-expanding seltzer, or soda water, binges. The volume of water and gas in the seltzer expands the stomach without needing to consume any food energy. This is how Kobayashi stays at 131 pounds (59 kg).

Kobayashi expands his stomach for a competition by eating larger and larger amounts of food, and then exercises to ensure that fat will not impede expansion of his stomach during a competition[1]. According to a 2006 documentary on MTV's "True Life," Kobayashi has a condition called gastroptosis, which is an abnormal downward displacement of the stomach.

Kobayashi is also known for his trademark body wiggle, which he uses to force food down his esophagus. He eats the hot dogs by splitting the frankfurter in half, swallowing both parts at once, and then eating the bun. He calls this the Solomon method.

My Ride: is better than yours
This guy is amazing and is ripped as hell. His form is really bad though, and I could definetely see him getting injured down the road because of it. I love the first part where he eats 100 plates of sushi (2 pieces per plate). I wish I could do that at an all you can eat sushi bar.
