I need motivation!
Here's the deal...I've been slacking at the gym big time. As of last year I've been off and on again...mainly off. So I went from being in shape and ripped to semi out of shape and somewhat soft. I used to goto the gym 5 days a week religously, eat very well, etc. I'm trying to get back into my old routine but it's very difficult....I've been working 7 days a week since October and when I get home from work during the week the last thing I want to do is get back up and head off to the gym. Don't get me wrong, the days I do get up I feel great...I feel I'm back on track, but then something usually throws me off one of the days, like an appt at 6pm where I can't make it that day.
So my question is, how do you guys with hectic schedules such as myself keep yourself motivated? I plan on going back to the normal M-F routine in the beginning of April so if all else fails I only have 3 more weeks until I can regain my concentration. |

Once you get the first 2 weeks under your belt, you'll be back in the swing. You will almost look forward to getting up everyday to hit the gym. I am at a point where I need to get back into the gym as well.
I've been running 30-40 miles per week, so weight isnt really a factor, but I need to hit the gym to feel more solid. I'm going to start lifting again this week. Reading this forum is great motivation to stay on top of my workouts. My schedule is also pretty hectic. I work 7am-7pm M-F if you count my commute. The best thing I can do is go to the gym at 5:30am.

You just have to find a groove.
I don't need motivation. After a while, working out became a responsibility...it's like work and family time. Sometimes you like it, sometimes you don't, but you have no choice but to do it.

I agree with both of you, when I'm in the groove I look forward to the gym. However, working 7 days a week makes it tough to find the groove again.
Morning workouts are out of the question for me...there's not way I can get up at 5am to hit the gym. |

or find a sport that you like...then join a league.
If you're commited to the sport, it will be your entire motivation in working out so that you can perform better and whoop azz.
