detail before clear bra or after?

Planning on getting the front end reconditioned... ie get rid of the rock chips and possible paint and blend with the rest of the car

After I plan on putting a clear bra...

When should I clay bar, polish, and wax the car? before clear bra or after?

Polishing and waxing over the clear bra won't affect the paint at all.

As far as doing anything before putting on a clear bra... polishing and waxing new paint is typically un-needed, much less clay baring... In fact, it is recomended that you not wax new paint for a minimum of 30 days after a new paint job.

clear bra

If you have the bumper painted make sure you give it 30 days before you put the clear bra on. If you have any clear bra questions I am happy to answer. I was an Xpel and ArmorGlove installer for many years.

dang !!! so that means I prolly should not drive the car too much for 30 days.

Reason I was asking about when to detail is cause I don't think I am gonna get the whole thing repainted... so If they try to blend the front end in... there will probably be some imperfections. I was thinking of using something like Menzerna's Final Polish II to help cover it up a bit as well.

Any ideas on how to protect the front end while the paint cures?

As far as the replica M3 bumper goes, it does not need to go on right away... whatever shop paints it can stick it in a paint oven to get the paint to cure faster i guess... then it can be clear bra'd before install onto the car.

But how should I end up doing the hood and fenders then? They have a tiny fine spray of tiny rock chips.

clear bra

You could just drive in reverse . JK, If you have a lot of stone chips you may want to consider something like Chips Aways. They do airbrush repairs that look good. If you cover the repairs with the Clear Bra, they will become almost invisible. Remember to always check references. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I am going with a company out here in SoCal called denttime. I think their website is www.denttime.com

Looks like they have done a bunch of cars & specializes in all that reconditioning services. They can't seem my car for 2 weeks cause they are already pretty booked... gonna have a parking lot accident fixed, they are gonna touch up all my scractes, door dings... then advise me on what to do about the front end... they also do clear bra too.

Well... thanks for the advice guys, I just get all anxious anticipating how it will all turn out... is it gonna look good or not... is clear bra gonna be the answer to my paint chip problems? I hope so...
