i got a beef with the new M5s

i just picked up a 750i on lease, while i was there i was lookin at the M5. I jokingly said i would get one but im not gonna wait 2yrs for one. Dealer lights up and says they have 4 in stock and will happily intercept whatever i wanted. I looked at him with shock!!!!!! WHY ARENT THEY MOVING THESE CARS? Dont believe me? http://http://www.prestigebmw.com/in...aspx?newused=n

They list 3 new, the 4th is a black demo. They also said they would give me 6k off one? WHAT THE ****????????

i asked about the new M roadster and they said that is a 1yr wait list!!!!!! some one needs to explain this to me. (and yes i did take one out) its an incredible car. Just so good, im not a huge fan of SMG but the 7 speed kicks ass.

Hmm..seems like it wasnt because they jacked up the price.

I have heard that older M5 owners arent happy with the new M5; because it has very E46 M3 (read:top end) power characteristics. It doesnt have that effortless pull of the old M5 or the AMG cars.

You should take that m5 over the 750i any day ;-)

my dealer has 2 in stock. They aren't selling becuase they are leasing out like a $110,000 760i. BMW overpriced this car into 750i territory. Most wealthy businessmen opt for the 750i or 750li, becuase they are more luxurious and get better gas mileage, have a true automatic, and have a higher quality interior. I drove a E60 M5 and it is fast, but not as fast as you would think it is from all of the praise it gets. When you can get a 750i (BMW flagship let me remind you) with every option for $350/month cheaper than an M5, anyone with common sense will pick the 7.

That's a gross assumption. You're not accounting for areas where the vehicle is moving like hotcakes. They just aren't selling well in your particular area. I've seen a shitload of new ///M5's around OC/LA.

Jeuprx-8 just responded with a very opinionated statement. I for one don't think it's necessarily as fast as people think. It is a very fast car for its size and characteristics, but it's no lambo. (which is obvious to most, I hope)

Because they are ugly.

Amazing car but ugly. If you were going to spend $85K on a car wouldn't you want a nice lookng car?

I think the M5 is amazing, but I can't get past the Hyundai look.

That dealer has three ///M5's. Big deal. You make it seem like they have 15 sitting stagnant on their lot.
