DRL's could count as headlights, but fog lights do not! There's a section (I can't remember which one right now) that prohibits the use of only auxilary lighting during the hours of darkness.

I forgot to mentioned that my DRL is always on whenever the Xenons are off... so should be okay...

Should be fine as long as your tail lights are functioning as well

Hence why they're called Daytime Running Lights. Meaning that they're on whenever the car is running, unless the headlights are on, right?

Your tails probably aren't on with the DRL's, but you'd have to double check.

Cops are always anxious to show the reading on the radar gun. I always refuse in case I want to fight it. Is there any merit to this? My assumption is he'll write in his notes that I observed the reading.

Got my first ticket in 4 years the other day 68 in a 45. Nice guy, but I could tell one wrong comment and he'd turn. Didn't check/care about front plate (LA Co. Sheriff).

Showing you the radar does not really strengthen his case. In fact, most officers (unless on a motor or using a laser gun) have their radars mounted in their patrol cars and would not be able to ever show the motorist the reading. You show the detained motorist the radar when possible for a couple of reasons: helps you not look like you were making the speed up if they swear they were not going that fast, and to help discourage fighting the ticket in court. Noting that you saw the radar reading isn't a big deal, as the officer's word is all the court needs, and, frankly, the cop could really be showing you a reading from the last person they clocked!

PM me with the info about which station area you were in and the name of the deputy please.

Theoretically, you can wear an unloaded weapon on your hip in plain view, and you would not be breaking the law. You can also be riding with your unloaded gun in plain view on the front seat of your car (there could not be any ammo within the passenger compartment) and you wouldn't be breaking the law. Obviously, neither of these is a good idea
Frobie...single shot carrier...what is the point? Someone with a small degree of mechanical inclination can "toy" with the receiver and pin to make it full-auto.

BTW: Great Thread.

If you were given the ticket, then yes, they will show up. The ones when your car is parked won't.

You could, and it looks pretty cool, but you could get a ticket for it. They are obviously auxilary lighting, which means that you don't have your headlights on during darkness. Moving violation and $250. Take your pick, "cool look" or "phat ticket"...

Shouldn't be that much. Unless it's a "non-correctable". Find out and see if you can get the ticket signed-off. That way it'll only be a $10fine.
