If you can figure out how to install the mid speaker component in the mid door locations using the component 3 way setup please let us know. I have not seen anyone who has done this (mostly 2 way component fronts......). I almost got a good deal on a pro series 3 way and I was going to give it a try........but then the good deal fell through.........so I stuck with the 2 way.

Why are the door pockets covered over or filled in in that pic with the speakers installed?

Yep, pmmeke does not have an oem amp, all speakers are directly fed from the oem radio (i checked this).
So the signal is not cut off, it is a full range signal.

ok
That issue is setteled
conclusion: when upgrading youd better upgrade the oem amp to. I think its to weak to give a good feed to the bostons to. They realy need some power for maxiumum sound So if possibel loose the amp or when its a expensive amp you have change the signal low band if possibel to full signal You have boston cross overs so unless i dont know what i am talking about (and there is that chance lol) you can use those for signal deviding

Yeah, I plan on adding an amp for the bostons up front and the JL sub in the back. I did, however, want to keep the rest of the stock speakers on the OEM amp for filler sound. This works except for adding upgraded coax speakers in the rear deck (because of the oem crossovers). No problem, it will still sound much better because of the over riding boston components and JL sub.

Will they fit exactly and form a good seal? Because when I installed my 6.5 JL evolution coax in the rear I had to make an adapter ring because of the non-circular hole the stock speakers fit in. It wasn't hard to make the ring, but I keep hearing people say that the 6.5's fit perfectly.............I didn't have such luck. thanks.

Yes
Hans installed them several times without probs. On a not i would like to add that its better to have bostons in the rear to because boston speakers have a particular sound picture and these rear speakers realy go whell together with the front speakers.

Pmmeke, nice speakers you got there! I too have Boston Acoustics (RC620's) up front and they sound great!
From my experience, give them 1-2 weeks of break-in time and they will sound even more incredible than new! One question though: did you get any engine noise in your setup, since you used the speaker level inputs into your amp? |

I have one question, does the oem rings (grille) come right off or do you have to cut them out of the door panel ? Since you mentioned you have to remove them to fit the larger speakers.
Thanks and congrats, nice install so far. |
