Question Is This The New M6!?? [PICS!]

Wow, fortunately I had my camera phone ready this time. I snapped a few pics of what looks like a M6? Anyway, I don't know, it's debaged, hard to say. Has dealer/dist plates. It was followed by a blue Z4 and a grey debaged e90 325. All 3 cars had dealer/dist plates. This was today in Oxnard on rice Ave. Been hearing stories of other peeps spotting them in Cali. It always happens here!

That camera on your phone has some high quality pics. If it's not less than 5 feet from my camera, the image sucks balls.

....

not sure whether or not it's the M6. there are no side gills and what's with the black bumper molding? and, what M6 owner would debadge their car...granted it's a dealer's car.

Well if you had to test it undercover... you paint over the roof, add the black bumper strips, and change the wheels. Given that it has what appear to be distributor plates (distributor is "DST" and dealer is "DLR"), and that it was sighted in Oxnard (minutes from the BMW VPC), I'm gonna say it's the real deal. Back before the E46 M3 was released, there were multiple camouflaged M3 sightings in and around Oxnard as well.

I don't know why they'd disguise it, I just know that they do.

We don't have the so-called "M-Tech" package available here from the factory, and as I recall, even M-Tech equipped cars don't get some M features like quad exhaust.

Also note the shape of the side mirrors, which are characteristically M...

on some models there is an option for a quad exhaust... seen a few 5's with mtech kit, looking like the m5, and quads

i'll take pics next time

maybe things work differently in usa

yeah, not CF roof or side vents, it's probably a 6 series coupe with some sort of M/ZHP/ZSP package

M_PoweR_ZA, I can't seem to find any information on an M-Tech package (factory) on either bmw.co.za or bmw.de, got any official literature?

Reedo302 and Travs25i... just because it's painted doesn't mean it's not carbon fiber. CF can be painted just like everything else.

The M6 does not have side vents like the M5's, rather it has rebadged side detail from the 645i/650i: http://www.bmwworld.com/pics/6er/m6/17465_1024.jpg

I think you're right, IMO it's a 6series coupe.
