E46 m3 Vanos

Hey guys

I know its a long shot but would anyone have a spare E46 m3 vanos unit?

Doesn't matter if it is damaged, I only need the piston on the inlet side.

Hey Willaaay,

Don't tell me that left hand thread caught you out. I've got one that's almost complete and seems in good nick, Only problem is I'm out of town for the next month being Xmas and all. Surely a wrecker in the states can fly you one quicker.

Rob you would not believe it, I opened up the cap to the piston on the intake side and found the had cracked. Not enough oil pressure to engage the vanos .

Never seen it before. I'll post up an image when I get a chance.

Going to see if I can get one from Beisan or maybe a machine shop can make a piston for me.

Update - Pulled the piston out and this was what it looked like.

Just FYI I had the B8- Inlet Vanos Function error and replaced it with Beisan rebuilt solenoid but guess that wasn't the problem. Rajaei was kind enough to send me a spare piston.
