avery stoneshield paint protection film install

i had PPF installed by tvp auto (www.tvpauto.com) located near raleigh, NC.

pete over there does a great job on window tint and paint protection film installs.

for window tint, he primarily uses suntek.

for PPF, he uses avery stoneshield but will install any kit you want.

for the E46 M3, he uses a pre-cut edge-wraparound kit.

his prices are reasonable, and he will install PPF on any part of your car that can be.

this is the first car i have gotten PPF installed on but i have seen lots of cars with it before. i would have to say this is one of the best jobs i have seen. i had it done last friday. today, i stopped by to get my windshield covered with security film to protect from rock chips and scratches. there was a brand new yellow Z06 with a kit being installed. again, the install was top notch.

i am very happy with the results.

here are some pics (sorry for the poor quality but you get the idea of the quality of install):

line on passenger's side fender

driver's side edge of the hood: you can see where it wraps around on the side edge

passenger's side edge of the hood

passenger's side fender edge: again, you can see the wrap around

application to bottom portion of the bumper

driver's side fender: note again wrap around feature of the kit tucks under/"inside" the hood

trim under the headlights: kit is cut so as to fit "around" curves/slopes that cannot be covered without wrinkling, etc.

headlight washer covering: black "mark" is not under the film, not sure where it came from but came off easily

hood emblem done: completely covered to the very edges

bottom front edge of the hood

partial coverage of rocker panel on driver's side that is prone to scuffing. film covers from the lateral edge of the door sill to the very bottom of the rocker panel

and the passenger's side

install complete:

pete at tvpauto will travel and install. he does a lot of local celebrities' cars such as those of former UNC basketball players, carolina panthers players, and carolina hurricanes players. he does a lot of installs on porsches at the local dealership. last weekend, he went up to D.C. to do a few cars.

even with travel cost, his prices are not that bad. i know folks come from as far as FL to get window tint or PPF installed. give him a call and tell him i sent you.

take care.

hey there, this is lame but i am not allowed to post publicly how much i paid. i am "serving" as a promo for tvp auto for my local group. i am the first in our group to get it done.

it was very reasonable. PM me and i will reply with the exact pricing for full frontal coverage, mirrors, part of rocker panels, windshield. i am waiting to do behind each wheel and over the rear bumper.

take care.

I'm sorry if I missed it but did you do your mirrors? If you didn't it is a good area to do. I cover that area on all my cars.

yep, i may not have mentioned it. i did not take pics of that

i also covered the windshield with security film on the outside. i am *experimenting* to see how it goes.

for me, the partial rocker panel coverage is key. the scuffing on both sides really bothers me.

take care.
