Not crazy about it. Although it'll probably grow on me. let's see the engine performance specs. That's the true judgement

Great body form and lines, though I don't like the "cut-out" style exhaust spaces on the lower skirt. It looks like an afterthought.
Not nearly as form-fitting as the M3 rear skirt/ quad exhaust is setup, which "invites" the exhaust tips. Also, it's going to be expensive to get body kits for this car, seeing that the front doesn't have a traditional bumper that can be removed. Rather, like the Z4, it'll require the whole front fascia to be removed, placing a much higher premium on fitment from vendors. Just my 2 cents....

I say its fine...its at least a good place to start. When I first saw the e46 coupe, I loved it right away, but after modding my car and seeing so many other modded cars here, a stock e46 doesn't do it for me anymore.
Think about it - the hot things now are CSL style kits and wheels, M-tech bumper, vented M3 hoods and CF everywhere. None of these were available for the e46 in its early years. I think we'll see some things in the first couple of years like bumper add-ons, splitters, and blacked out trim. Later, in its life cycle we'll see M-style bumpers, CF hoods, wide-body kits, different spoilers/lip spoilers, rear-diffusers, etc. IMHO, the car has potential and a turbo engine to start with! What I think sucks is that if BMW continues what they're doing now, this car won't come with an LSD being a non-M. |
