For those of you who like the old-style sedan rectangular foglights...

This thread serves two purposes... first, I wanted to find out how many of you, besides myself, actually like and still sport the old-style rectangular foglights of the prefacelift sedans, and second, I wanted this thread to show the various options for bumpers/add-ons that still make use of the rectangular sedan foglights. Hopefully this thread will be of use to those of you, like myself, who wanted to upgrade their stock front bumper (either by addon or full bumper replacement) but still make use of the rectangular foglights.

I will go ahead and start us off with some pics of various bumper replacements I've come across - starting with my new front bumper (currently at the bodyshop being painted):

RDSport R35 - Version #1 with bumper molding strips - no longer being made

RDSport R35 - Version #2 without bumper molding strips

Here's a Racing Dynamics front bumper pre-R35 (no longer in production) that I came across on the old E46fanatics website...

i never really liked the old style fog lights but i must say that looks pretty good

i have those rectangular foglights and i like mine alot

Which one are you referring to that looks good?

I Like the rect. fogs, but why put them up so high??

i was reading a old C&D and realized the first year of 330Ci comes with rectangular foglights... that looks awesome

I don't think they're any higher than what they are on the stock bumper. From first glance it looks like it's up higher (I'm guessing you're referring to the R35 bumper) but I definitely think it's at the same level. One way to know for sure is that I could measure the distance from the bumper molding to the top of the rectangular foglights on my stock OEM bumper and then do the same for the R35 front bumper. That way we'll know for sure if it sits higher or not.

I like my fog light that I installed a week ago.
However, performance wise the project type (like IS300) will be out perform our reflect type.

Yes, the R35 bumper in your pic is the Version #2 without bumper moldings. I did speak with Electrodyne - they don't have any in stock but they do have the original mold for that bumper so they could make one (don't know how long it would take though). The Version #1 R35 bumper (with bumper moldings) is definitely not available and no longer in production - (I asked because if they did I would have bought the Version #1 R35 bumper from them).

The "pre-R35" bumper pic that I posted, according to what was mentioned in the old E46fanatics website, is no longer in production so that's where I got my info from. That bumper was referred to as the bumper from the old RD aero kit, whereas in your pic the bumper is referred to as the DTM competition type - don't know if at some point they decided to rename the same bumper or if there are small subtle differences between these two bumpers. But in any case it's good to know that this may be an additional bumper option.

Folks, feel free to post any other pics of replacement bumpers or addons that utilize the rectangular foglights.

no it didnt

I don't mind them at all, definitely better than the facelift sedan bumper with those teeeny tiny fogs.

Are you sure about that? All the coupes I've seen all have circular style foglights - in fact the coupes in 2000 all had circular style foglights. If you do confirm what you said to be correct, do post pics.

Edit: Perhaps the C&D (I assume this is Car & Driver) was referring to the first year of the 330i, not the 330ci.
