Sounds like your opinion is WRONG. What does owning a BMW have to do with social status?...I seen almost walk of life owning a BMW these days. Class is a reflection of one's character.

No offense but BMW is the bottom rung compared to Ferrari, Lambos, Bentley, etc when it comes to social status.

To the OP it will be a close race.

first thing u need to do is to have the other guy with the m3 beaten up, and told to never buy an m3 again. how can you race someone and not have the sport button on, let alone the DSC on!!! he was probably changing gear like a granny too!! lol

This guy sounds like a real b*tch who is scared to race you. The only way he "blasted" and M3 was if it was E36, or some d1ckhead who can't drive an E46. I hate people like this guy.

umm the sports button makes no difference if your gas pedal is floored

Oh please, just don't take the time to put on your driving gloves.

Anyone give me cliffs on this thread, so I won't have to sift through all these pages of poop? I'd imagine it would have been a pretty good run to around 100mph or so.

When ignorant comments are posted. Sort of like yours "noob."

If you read his post...is usage of "Class" is erroneous in that he and many others believe a vehicle somehow improves a person's character.

this is true, but it makes a difference on reaction time...when you push the pedal it will take less long to get to full throttle...granted that will only be fractions of a second...but that does make a difference...just not that much

yea but in launch mode, the pedal is completely depressed anyway, and for me atleast, i feel that my car is less jerky in shifts when i dont lift off the pedal to make a shift.

I can tell you guys this:

I have driven the SRT8 Charger AND the SRT8 300. I was extremely unimpressed with both. Not only were they fast in a stupid way (overreactive throttle response and shltty gearing), but they handle SO bad!

My X5 sport handled waaayyy better. Not to mention the plastic interior. I do not even see what the debate is in this thread

race results

This forum got so boring looking for results so I'll tell you mine. Buddy bought a new SRT-8 in November. I bought my '02 M3 at the same time. On May 11, we went to St. Thomas Dragway in Ontario Canada and he killed me. Both cars are stock. He ran 13.23 and I ran 13.67 at 106.5 MPH. I didn't lower tire pressure or try anything fancy. Just 92 Octane with Sport ON and DSC OFF.

I've seen a stock M3 E46 (manual) except he was running DR's run 12.9's....the guy could really launch the piss out of that car

where is Jonathan? He is going to **** a chicken.
It would only be a waste of time if either car was a sure win, which is obviously not the case.
