Dinan Stage 1 Software REVIEW

So I went ahead and did the Dinan Stage 1 software upgrade and the Dinan mod ladder to the elusive "DINAN badge" has now begun. Anyway Long Beach BMW has great service and nice people and charged me $32 less than quoted because I got it without sales tax!! So $460 installed and they gave me the expanding rivet I needed for my trunk for FREE!! lol 88 cents.

So, review time. All I can say is WOW. I know some people say that the Dinan software is a joke, not worth it or whatever, but I really did feel a difference in the way the car pulls and how it responds, throttle response is much better, and I love the 6750 redline. This is all I can say for now, basicallyu a first impression but if my opinion changes from what I experienced just driving home and to get lunch I will up date the post. Overall, I am not regretting this like I feared I may and I think it's pretty good so far.

BTW, I want the badge and I want a "Dinan" car that's why I did this, however flamed I am going to be for doing it I don't care, because ever since I first saw a Dinan car, I wanted one, and thus far I like what I am getting!!

Well it can mean For The Win or F* The World I suppose... LOL

I've never used it so I'm not sure :/

I have the Dinan Stage 1 software in my 330Ci and other than that the car is stock. During the winter, I was able to bury the speedo beyond 155mph and the RPM kept climbing to what I estimate to be about 160mph based on my speedo... I THINK I GOT A FACTORY FREAK

I'm happy with mine, but do wonder what it would be like if I had gotten the Shark Injector w/ a 7k redline and added hp...?!

LOL! Yeah, I saw that too, but we know what he meant to say.

Nice upgrade. Nothing wrong with Dinan in my opinion.

no, no parts do unless they can be proved as the cause of a problem, but BMW has approved Dinan for their cars and Dinan dealers, even most non-Dinan BMW dealers wont give you grief about Dinan stuff. On top of that Dinan warranties its stuff with a warranty that is almost Identical to BMWs, so if their parts caused a problem then they would replace their part and any others that were affected by a faulty part, their software(s) is(are) warrantied for life

well after a full day of having the software I am still loving it, and even more so. the throttle response and feel is just sooo much better, I don't care if Dinan claims no gain, it does feel, at least to me, much different and much more responsive than it did before!!

Glad you like it

Do the intake next, I like it more than the exhaust for sure. It sounds better and makes more power than the exhaust did.

I am probably going to end up with the Dinan exhaust, only because it's worth a whopping three "Dinan points" but I really like the ZHP one I have on it right now, anyway I've heard only good things about both the UUC and the Borla exhausts.

Sorry but what is TB?

And really, aren't the Dinan and Shark software comparable?
As far as I know, they both:
1. Make the care more responsive.
2. Remove the &*%$ dead space in the top of the gas pedle.
3. Remove the top speed governor.
4. Provide a few more revs (I think Shark is a few more actually 250 vs 500, correct me if I'm wrong)
5. Provide a couple of negligable HPs and TQ.

I am deciding myself so no holy war please, just the facts

well TB = Dinan High Flow Throttle Body

the shark is redlined at 7k while the dinan is at 6850, and they all do the same stuff only the shark software claims 10hp gains, i think, which i dont believe, and the dinan doesnt claim any hp gains...
