Sub Question

Hey Im thinking of putting 2 12" 300 watt subs in.
My friend told me he can wire them both to one amp and keep them both running at 300 watts. Can this be done?

bridge them together to run 2 ohms.

is that wise or will it be too much stress on the amp

Basic rule of thumb is to have an amp capable of providing the RMS continuous watt rating of the sub or better. If you have a 300 watt amp supplying 2 300 watt rated subs then will that work..............yes...........but it would be better to have a 600 watt amp. Distortion is more of an enemy to the subs than raw power. The higher your amp is gained up the more distortion your subs will experience at high volumes.

I have a 2x400 amp connected to two kicker comp vr 12" subs which run at 400-800

works just fine.

and the subs are up for grabs if someone can come pick it up and pay cash
