When you look around you girlfriend to check out how the M3 mirrors you just put on look, and say "Damn, that looks nice."

When you make eye contact with other E46 drivers and give the downward "nod-of-understanding".

When you red-line because the engine sounds so nice.

When you don't even waste your gas racing Civics.

When you've made someone walk because they dissed the red leather.

You actually kept the original E46 sales brochure with the pictures of Portugal and have it wrapped in plastic in your fireproof box under "Important Papers."

You never use the tools in your trunk kit becasue (a) they're useless anyway, and (b) the car is worth more in five years with a complete tool kit.

You get pulled over by a cop who claims you were going 85 on the off-ramp and you say "That's all?"

The M-Tech bumper part numbers are tatooed on your wrist.
I do the same thing with the brochure

i love this thread.

...when you drive a few friends to lunch and as you walk up to your car, you pat it on the trunk lid and say "poor baby, im sorry you're so dirty" and then hang your head feeling ashamed for all the salt and road grime that you've let build up during the winter.

of course your friends think you are insane, but you know your car is not happy. This happens to everyone, right? right?

You know you're an E46 fanatic when:

You go the the BMW dealership and ask if they still have any leftover E46 shirts in the back stockroom rather than the E90 shirts on the rack.

You carry around a tube of CrazyGlue just in case your window trim decides to cut loose just before you pick up your date or a client (which is usually when it happens)

People ask you what kind of car you have and you say "An E46" rather than saying BMW 325, 330, etc., and then just stand there with a smug look on your face as they stare back with a puzzled look on theirs.

You actually know all the offset, wheel width and tire combinations for your car.

If you have to take your car to a garage and they take off the wheels, as they are getting ready to re-install them, you whip out a torque wrench preset to 87 lb/ft from your back pocket and say "I'll take it from here."

You don't like to drive a Lexus because there is not enough wind noise from the driver's side window.

.You actually know where the battery is

When you park your car in a parking lot, you park it away from everyone else and, as you walk away, you look back at it. Twice.
I do all of the above lol, except whip out the torque wrench but I will check everything as soon as they finish and correct any errors they made. By the way just got new tires an hour ago.

-When your friends ask you why do you need this or that, or you didnt need that.... and you tell them yes I do/did and Im done trying to explain this to you cuz youll never understand.

-When someone tries to quote specs/facts about an E46 or any BMW for that matter and you always correct them or at least feel the need to because deep down inside you know youre doing this for the greater good.

-When people try to talk **** about your car or BMW for that matter and you dont care how many people are hating against you, you keep defending your point because you feel like they dont even know what its like....

Im guilty of at least 75% of the posts in this thread.

When you buy winter tires in December; before you go xmas shopping for the family.

When you can ID most of the Easter Eggs and "surprise" the noobs and nutsacks that just bought their e46.

When you hit craigslist every day or two looking for that 330i on the cheap. (Actually, checkin for e30's right now)

My wife says, i´m repeating the last 7 digits sometimes in sleep.

You´re really an E46fanatic, if you register yourself in a foreign forum, because you know all the local ones yet!
