Production Date Moved Up!!!

I just checked the status of my car at www.bmwusa.com and they moved up the scheduled production date from 4/26/02 to 4/19/02 and have assigned my car its VIN #!! I'm so pumped!!

For those of you who have gone through the order process, how long does it typically take from scheduled production to when you take delivery of the car?

Mine is still "On Order". On order? WTF is that? They've had my order for 3 days already!

I ordered my BMW about 2 weeks ago and I didn't get its vin. How can I get it to find out its status?

You go to www.bmwusa.com and click on the Owner's Circle icon on the top right of the main screen. Then go to Sign In/Account Setup and setup your account. You will need to get your production number from the dealership where you ordered your car. Once you've setup your account with your production number you can track the progress of your car (go to order tracking) from on order to scheduled for production to awaiting transport to en route to at preparation center to your BMW dealer. If you click on review order detail under order tracking you can get all the pertinent info on your specific car including your VIN #. Good luck.

Just don't get your hopes up. My production was moved up 2 weeks and then it sat at the dock waiting for a ship for a week and a half and then at the prep center waiting for a truck for a week
