Which Radar Detectors

Now I know everyone says that the Valentine One is the best but I just want to make sure I do my reasearch before I pay $400 for something i need to be able to trust. But all the reviews on the valentine one web site where its sranked number one are all out dated. So I searched around and I found the Bel Sti Driver radar detector and it looks to be better then the valentine one and I can get it a little bit cheaper then the valentine one.

I found this website of this company that does test on detectors and this Bel detoector beat the Valentine one 5 out of 6 test. One of the 5 tests it won over the valentine one was being totally invisible to radar detector dectors which is pretty important to me since ill be driving through virginia where their illegal to florida.

So whats your guys oppions.

Here is the link I found

When you compare V1 to others, there are two things to consider: 1 sensitivity (other detectors might be a bit more sensitive) and 2. convenience. The arrows are a very nice feature, especially if you do city driving. Even at a cost of having a bit less sensitivity than another brand, I personally prefer the V1 because of the arrows helping with false and real alarms (at least you know which direction to look).

Well im not buying it to drive wrecklessly. I just had to drive from Maryland all the way to south Florida. Its a 15 hour drive and I always drive straight through. I have two tickets on my record and both of them are from doing this trip. No speeding over just 100 or anything just tickets in the 85mph range with 70mph speed limits.

But I ended up buying the Bel STI. Just most of the tests I saw where the V1 was the best were from past years. So I just wanted something newer. But plus the Bel had a 30 day money back if you dont like it. It works pretty good though. It has a lot of false alarms but thats fine because it makes me look down at the speedometer every once in awhile. It come with a very fancy case which it should for the price u pay. It has alot of nice features with it like turning off the main screen so people cant see that u have a dector at night. But then the power plug has an alert light on it if it catches something.

But I dont really care about not having the arrows. I dont use it for the city manily just highway, theres no point to speed in the city with all the stop lights. And on the highway it doesnt matter where the cop is if theres a radar gun out there im slowing down no matter what. And you start to figure out whats false and whats not.
