can i retrofit a manual climate control unit w/dials? possible?

also, my car does not have an obc toggle switch...i guess its an option?

i was planning on doing this. but if you look on REAL oem the price difference between the two units is like 10 bucks, is it really worth it?

thx.
yes. you can retrofit obc control. all you need is just change the signal switch with obc button and activate obc by dealer.

i bought a turn signal stalk to retrofit the OBC to my car. Went to install it and one of the airbag screws is stripped!!!

Ages ago I think I remember one person doing it and it was a complete PITA, not easy at all.

Doing the swap the other way around is supposed to be easier... not that it helps you at all.

I dont know why you guys would want to downgrade the look of your interior, I know some people arent fans of how the automatic climate control functions, but downgrading really ages the interior and might hurt resale value. I personally think my automatic system works fine...

I think you just need the dials. I remember person doing it on the forums a while back.

Back in 2001, the US 325i's came with manual climate controls for a short period of time. Someone bought the auto climate control and did a swap. Supposively it worked without any issues or other adpaters.
