factory Nav screen without Mark IV Brain??

Hi all, I've currently got the factory business cd player, along with the Harmon Kardon stereo in my coupe.
There is a guy near me selling his perfect condition factory Nav/DVD/CD player and I was wondering if I was to buy it just to play cd's, would I have to buy the Mark IV brain to make this unit work?

I am NOT buying it for navigation reasons, just that I like the looks of it and would like a larger readout on the screen.

Will this work as a cd player still, IF the Mark IV brain is not connected?

You need the Nav brain to make the screen work. A retrofit harness, new radio unit, Nav brain and lots of misc parts + a day's worth or ripping your car apart.
