calling UK hifi heads

I'm trying not to spend loads of cash on my system, I have so far only added a 12" sub.

When I fitted it, I noticed how cheap looking the stock speakers were (although they sound OK for the business radio).

Has anyone upgraded the speakers but retained the stock amplified HU? Notice much of a difference??? What did you use???

Yep, I have been following that thread.

The thing is, you are driving those speakers with a dedicated 4channel amp. Yes???

I want to use the amp that is in the stock head unit. I don't know what the power output of the HU is, but doubt it would be much more than about 4x20W.

In this case, is it worth the change?

why doubt

As i c it you can pic up a cheap amp on ebay for 1OO dollars. Only thing you need is a 4 x 5O watt amp.

There are lots of them.

Its only 4 hours of labour more to install a extra amp

That was the whole idea of my treath that a not so expensive amp can give a good result as long as the speakers are good.

So if you want to cut cost go ebay. You can pic up speakers for less. Boston is very popular on ebay or another brand that is good.

So example +/-
front speakers boston rally speakers : ebay 1OO dollars
rear speakers boston rm6 ebay 1OO dollars
ordenairy amp : 1OO dollars
and some labour.

It can be done for less then 5OO dollars.

If you buy the pro series you should add some 2OO dollars if you choose boston but the result will be even more exellent

ps : i bought the rear boston RM 6 from a guy here on this forum who had a internet shop to stopped his site. Its some stock he has left.

Mail him
peter_fong168@hotmail.com

the boston RM 6 he sells for less then 14O dollars and even cheaper if your lucky
