trunk latch removal

Does anybody know how to remove the whole piece(truck latch) from the wiring after the little torx(sp) screws have been removed?

Thanks

Brad

Cool

Remove the liner off the inside of the lid. There should be a plug inside the lid. Unplug it and you should be good to go.

I can't unattach the wire from the latch itself?

Cool

Are you talking about the actual locking mechanism that locks the lid down?
PM with a pic of what you are talking about and I will try to help you out.

Yea, its kind of pain, instead of making the connector near the end of the wires, its somewhere in the middle, meaning you gotta remove the trunk liner to get to it.

Thats ok I don't need it unplugged badly. I am ust trying to cover the latch on a 325 with body color graphic and its so hard haha... I can't do it yet...I've tried 3 times....any suggestions/tips!? I covered all the plastic trim around the car a while back but decided to take it off. It wasn't as hard as this little peice tho....!!!

Cool

I had my black painted silver and it looks great. I have never used tape to color my plastic but I bet you could use soapy water to lay the tape kind of like tint or window banners.

I just recently wrapped mine in silver vinyl. Looks good in my opinion. It's a pain to do though! I ended up not wrapping the bottom part (where the lights are) very well since you only see that part when you open your trunk.
