How do I beat a street sweeping parking ticket?

I moved back to my dad's house and the fockers gave me street parking ticket along with a nice "no front plate" ticket #@@!$#!!!

I'm thinking about fighting the street sweeping ticket by saying that I don't live there since that I still have my old address. And I can show proof of that by sending a copy of an old bill or something.

Asking for forbearance since that I wasn't aware of the street sweeping schedule.

I don't know but I need a good excuse..

or else it's going to be like $60 bucks including the frnt license plate ticket

You can try, but if there is a sign, I don't see an easy way out.

that's your fault, just pay the ticket. isn't the front license plate $25 and the street ticket like $45? $70 is not THAT big of a deal..

You can get the front plate ticket written off and only pay $10. Dono about the parking one.

you could really wtfpwn them by taking out that checkbook and paying the $75

youd cause yourself more heartache by trying to fight it than just paying for it. its not like its putting points on your liscence or something

You'd lie and submit false evidence just to get out of paying $60? Crap like that is guaranteed to catch up to you some day.

Basically: If there were posted signs that you failed to read that said that day was street cleaning you have absolutely no case and you shouldn't waste anybodys time. If there weren't any signs posted you have a valid argument and I think it would be worth it to go and fight the ticket just on principle.

Ok thanks for the positive inputs...

I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to fight this ticket. So what if I spend a few minutes writing a letter and so what is some government person spends a few seconds stamping "denied" on my request.

I'm still going to try it.

Can't hurt to try. Worst they can do is say no.
