Gordon's BMW

Hey guys, I made a build thread on here not too long ago. Just thought I'd share some recent pictures of my car now that its been put back together!

Had it out at the local track at the end of October for some testing. It ran great with absolutely no issues! very pleased with the outcome. The only thing its going to be getting over the off season is some new wheels and tires + some minor things like a kill switch and a rally computer. I also need to finish making a lexan rear window.

Anyways, here it is.

I'm on Facebook under the name Gordon Pilling Racing and on instagram @gordonpilling so you can check out more stuff on there! (I don't post pictures of food haha) I'll be competing at Targa Newfoundland next September so keep and eye out for me!

Great looking work, I would add some thin AL to cover the interior doors, if you ever have a off track all those sharp edges are bad..

You need a sign over the hand, "Turn Worker Inside" LOL

I completely agree Dave! I just had it out for one track day with the doors like that. Working on aluminum door skins this winter. Something extremely simple and lightweight.
Maybe even an old school red strap attached to close the door.

Yea I was driving a nissan S12 and got tapped and went grass skating,,
soft hit to the tire walls still smacked my left hand into the window regulator,, OUCH!

Off Season Work

Hey guys. Just thought I would check in and give a few updates on my car. It's been a lonnnggg winter here in Ontario. I can't wait to take her out for a spin once the roads clear up here!

Over the winter I've just been doing the minor but important things. Starting with the brakes.

I had an issue last season with a brass pin kit I was using on all 4 calipers. They were great when they were clean but because they had nothing to shield them from the dirt, I constantly had to perform brakes services to clean the pins and make sure they weren't loose. so I removed the Pin kit and replaced them with the stock rubber one that use the end caps.

While I had everything apart I cleaned the calipers and rotors, hubs, wheel bolts.. Currently I am using new 330 size calipers all around, Stop Tech pads, Stop tech stainless steel lines, 330 size Stop tech Power slot rotors and an Ultra blue racing brake fluid which I cannot pronounce.. lol.

Since then I have just been doing small things like chasing down My low coolant light which I think could be because of my new expansion tank... (based on what i have read here it's related to the magnet on the bottom of the tank?)

I also, decided to paint my wheels white! I think it came out pretty nice and should keep me liking these wheels until a new pair comes around.

Also, I made my new front lip a little higher so i won't be scraping ants off the road anymore! lol. I grew tired of hearing it scrape on the fast and tight corners after just one track day..

It definitely hasn't been the same work load as last winter but it's the usually the small details that make a difference!
If you have time, you should give me a follow on Instagram, @gordonpilling. I usually post daily and I never take pictures of my food!

Car looks awesome! What wheel tire combination are you running? Wheel offsets and width?
