Another Idiot bought an E46 to Destroy

Howdy!
Picked up a 2001 330Ci at the beginning of the month. It's a total roach mechanically but the body is totally solid with a bit of cosmetic damage up front. Paid about $2k to much at $4k. But at least the power steering didn't work and the driveshaft blew up on the ride home. A/C is ice cold however.

I've got a few grand in parts sitting in the shop ready to make it drivable again. Ill probably start a build thread, look for AIBAE46TOD.....

Thanks to all the smart guys on this forum that i have robbed tons of info from! #vorshlag

4k is a bit much it seems, but it seems that the car is in good hands now! Power steering pump should run you about $100. Driveshaft should be 100-200 bucks.

Ha, Ive spent way more than that on those parts.......And yes 4k was 2 much, but after looking for over a year, driving 2 hours to see it, i figured screw it how bad can it be? Well its pretty bad.....I have probably bought and sold 200+ cars in my life (worked for a Wholesaler in college, owned a VW parts store in CO.) and this was probably my worst buy. I have $6500 in it and its worth half that. Fortunately my labor is free.
Previously owned BMW's
-1984 535i. Champange-Heavily modified, very fast for what it was.
-2007 M6/6speed 'vert. Black-very, very fast, got it after my 06' GTO, which was fast enough, sold it before i died.
-2012 X5 drive35i M sport. White -Hands down the best car i have ever owned, looks bad ass, drives great, eats miles for a living. I have autocrossed it, track dayed it, did Hot Rod Power Tour in it last year and basically lived in it the last 2 summers. Cant say enough good about it!

I totally agree. 330ci 5 speed cars are VERY hard to find down here in south florida, and most of them are destroyed by "drifters" and other Soflo clown activities. So yeah i paid to much, but its straight and unmolested, just poorly maintained. And I Figure its gonna have $10k in it to be a decent car. Thats a figure i've seen on this forum, and it seems about right. So no matter the starting point, i think thats where you end up...

Now I'm gonna go clean oil off of things......

Kudos for rescuing a stray and spending time and money to bring a 46'er back to life. Coupes totally rock.

Very nice car the coupe, and a bonus that you can do your own repairs.
