A very slick looking ZHP (minus the blacked-out turn signals).

Hi,

I've been trying to search the info about the diameter of the angel eyes. There are tooo many threads about angel eyes so I don't know where to look...

Anyway, I would like to know if there is a difference in the size of the angel eyes for non-xenon and xenon headlights? I have just normal halogen headlights and I bought a set of angel eyes from German ebay but they don't fit very well. The inner "projector", I guess the high beam, is the problem: the diameter of the angel eye is too small. There is a big gap between the ring and the projector. For the low beam the angel eye ring fits nicely.

I just would like that the rings fit nicely to the projector without the gap and without interfering the projection of the lights. On the umnitza website is said "Fits All Halogen, Xenon, BiXenon, and Adaptive Xenon Lights" but what I measured, the halogen projectors low- and high beam have different sizes...

I'm kind a lost with this issue

Mostly all angel eyes on the market will fit every single car for the E46. There are unique angel eyes that fit only 1 model - X5 or 2004-2006, but mostly, the angel eyes on the market will fit your car. But some angel eyes - likely yours are made by Racedash, will not fit the halogen lights all that well if they are sold for Xenon. Racedash makes 2 types - xenon and non-Xenon ones

Your question hopefully can be answered with photos:

Here is the halogen light - like yours - that shows how the Orion V2 fit to your car's lights:

I bought and had my Aurora's installed by EAS (on the same visit I bought and had installed the BMW OEM Bluetooth mobile phone system and the DICE HD Radio module)-the Aurora's are very bright! I'll post pictures soon of the Aurora's (unless Tom beats me to it).

....so shame that you didnt make them fully - without gaps... coz I like your AE how they fit to oem reflectors ... but I will buy from Matt, coz he has fully LED AE and he is cheaper...you shoud do something with that

There is reasoning behind the ring design that has been covered numerous times on earlier posts - this is essential for clearance from headlight shrouds.

If you are comfortable with trimming, you may have to do some. We did on the set we received for our comparison.

Food for thought.

I too had my initial reservations (about gaps)-but you can't really see any gaps when you see them in person. As mentioned before, pictures do not do justice to these lights. Once you see them in person you will fall for them.

Thanks Tom (and a 'thanks' to Steve)! Both did a super job installing my Aurora's, OEM Bluetooth mobile phone component, and the HD DICE. You were very professional and passionate about your work-and it shows. Thanks for taking the time to show me around the workshop and products that you are working on. Cheers!

I seriously love how clean all of the installations went-my 330i looks completely stock.
