NEED HELP!! Please identify this xenon assembly H7 or D2S?

I purchased an E39 a month ago and the previous owner installed Hella xenon headlights assemblies. He has D2S igniters with bulbs installed for the low beams but the bulbs and igniters do not fit into the headlight assembly very well. In fact they were glued in place. The rest of the lights, highbeams ect. say H7 on them. The low beam assembly have a orange metal ring housing that looks like it was made for the back end of an H7 socket or igniter. Do I need to swap the D2S igniters for the H7's and is there a difference between the H7 and D2s xenon setup? Has anyone ever had this experience? Am I missing a piece that fits the D2S assembly from the igniter?Please see pictures...thanks

Does the stock wiring for the headlight assembly come complete with wiring harness to swap stock for xenon? I dont see any wiring harness and I think the previous owner must have wired it himself. The check light message doesn't come on either.
