How to tap positive power for angel eyes?

Having short-circuit issues with tapping the positive power in the engine bay. It was suggested by jlevi support that we tap the positive inside the empty space instead. The part in question is the pushbutton that you see to the right of the picture.

Supposedly you can lift this piece up. I tried briefly but was unable to do so, something was catching and I didn't want to break it. Has anyone dones this?

It looks like other people have also used the remote trigger as the main positive power source. How does this sound as an alternative power source?

You want to unplug the harness on there, pull the unit towards the passenger side, and then lift up and out.

When you say pull the unit toward the passenger side, do you mean:

1) pull it toward the fenders
or
2) pull it toward the windshield?

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion, yes pull it towards the fender. It should move slightly, then you can lift it up and angle it out (You'll see what I mean).
